Hurricane Irene is a really big deal and event that occurred in North Carolina. It has cost them at least $71 million dollars in damage. Not only that, but it has damaged at least 1,100 homes. More then 440,00 people have lost power and energy because of the hurricane at some point. Thousands of more people have also faced more additional outages after strong winds and lightning hit the eastern part of the state. There is also a lot of flooding going on which has caused much lose of a lot of homes and many difficulties as well. Alyssa Bautista
