Impact of Hurricane Irene- Raffi

Hurricane Irene is said to be the first hurricane to make landfall since 2008. There has been at least nine deaths and it left millions of people without any electrical power. The wind gusts of this hurricane were estimated at about one hundred and fifteen miles per hour forcing Washington, Philadelphia, New Jersey shore, and the Boston area to evacuate the streets and brace for heavy winds. Irene also brought dangerous flooding across the east coast. There were possibilities where trees or power lines could fall down into homes which also causes people to lose power. Bless the people that lost loved ones or lost their homes to Hurricane Irene.
